Privacy policy

The short version
You can read MediFacts without an account. We use Google Analytics only if you agree to it, we never use advertising cookies, and we do not ask for or store information about your health.
What we collect
- Server logs. Like every website, our hosting provider records technical details of each request (IP address, browser type, page requested, time) to keep the site secure and working. These logs are kept for a limited period and are not used to identify you.
- Embedded videos. Videos are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode and load only when you press play. Once you play a video, YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that video.
- Analytics, only with your consent. If you tap "Accept" on our cookie notice, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, so we know what to improve. It uses cookies (names starting with
_ga) and receives your approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you visit. We have switched off advertising features, Google signals and data sharing for Google's own products, and we never send what you type into our search box. If you tap "No thanks", Google Analytics is not loaded at all. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page; withdrawing consent deletes the cookies on this device. Google's handling of this data is described in Google's privacy policy. - Your cookie choice. We remember whether you accepted or declined in your browser's local storage, on your device only.
- Messages you send us. If you contact us, we use your message and contact details only to reply and to act on your request.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent personal information.
- We do not ask for symptoms, diagnoses, prescriptions or other health information.
- We do not build profiles of visitors, show advertising based on your visits, or share data for advertising.
Your rights
Under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 as it comes into force, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. Contact our grievance officer.
Changes
If we add features that collect more information (for example, a newsletter), we will update this policy before they go live and ask for consent where the law requires it.
